Ernst Thälman Statue - Monday 19th January, 2009. 19/365. Berlin slowly thaws. I braved the remaining ice to go jogging today. One of my routes takes me past this huge statue of Ernst Thälman, chairman of the KPD (German Communist Party) during much of the Weimar Republic.
